Training on Branch Management was conducted between October 12 and November 6, 1997, for eight staff from four GT-funded projects ( two from RDI Jinping, China, two from RDI Malipo, China, two from SRI, India and two from MILAMDEC, Philippines). Another program on Branch Management was held between November 22 and December 18, 1997, for eight staff from four GT-funded projects ( two from APME, Mauritania, three from SYNORSEC, Togo, one from WWB, Bosnia and two from NAWOU, Uganda). After a briefing on the program, the participants were sent for field training to different Grameen branch offices in the rural areas of Bangladesh. In the field, they practically learnt how to form groups, manage centres, propose loans, disburse and recover them. Moreover, they learnt in detail about GB financial system, i.e., loan supervision, loan recovery, budget, planning, accounting, group fund savings, loan proposal, planning and monitoring.
