People's Fund for Microcredit Programs

Grameen Trust initiated the process of creating a US$ 100 million PEOPLE's FUND to support Grameen replication programs all around the world. We thought individuals could take the lead and show the way for the governments and global and regional development financial institutions. We wish to reach one million people who would contribute US$ 100 (or equivalent in other currencies) each to this fund, to make it happen. We are urging each interested person to persuade four other friends to contribute US$ 100 each and create a Grameen Support Group.

Funding from Grameen Trust

Grameen Trust has been providing training and technical assistance to Grameen replications worldwide. It has also been providing seed and scaling-up funds to replication projects working with the poorest, especially women, in different countries.

Upto March 2003, Grameen Trust has provided seed capital to 111 projects and scaling-up funds to 44 projects in 34 countries of Asia and the Pacific, Europe, Africa and Latin America. Those organizations, which are working or planning to work with the poor, following Grameen model and require training, technical and financial assistance, may write to the following address for further information on Grameen Trust's program for support to replication projects in the developing countries.
