Professor Yunus Meets President Sarkozy






President Nicolas Sarkozy of France received Nobel Laureate Muhammad Yunus at Elysee Palace in Paris for a special meeting to discuss microcredit and poverty alleviation strategies for the developing world.




Professor Yunus Meets President Lula




Professor Muhammad Yunus visited Brazil from June 11-14, 2008, on invitation from the Brazilian Senate. He addressed the plenary session of the Senate on June 12. He met with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva at the Alvorada Palace. During the two hour meeting Professor Yunus and President Lula discussed on issues ranging from microcredit for poverty alleviation, health care, global food crisis, increasing agricultural productivity, climate change and other common issues facing both Bangladesh and Brazil.




GT's New Office Inaugurated


Executive Trustee of Grameen Trust Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus formally inaugurated the new office premises of Grameen Trust on the 20th Floor of the Grameen Bank Bhaban on April 15, 2008, the first day of office on the Bangla New Year, 1415. Board Members and Trustees of Grameen Trust, Chief Executives and other senior officials of Grameen sister organizations were present at the event.
